Three best friends traveled to South Africa to participate in Ironman and Ultra Marathon competitions and came back with the inspiration for a business – Kalahari Biltong. Biltong, a traditional South African food, is not heat dried like jerky, but instead Kalahari’s top round american beef is air-dried for 18 days with 5 other ingredients, vinegar, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and coriander, to create a tender cross between dry-aged beef, jerky, and prosciutto. This team is on a mission to share this bit of South African food culture with other cultures around the world.
